Production company EvilAngel.com is one of the oldest names in the game. started by John Stagliano in 1989, Evil Angel was an easy head start at a time when porn could suddenly be made much cheaper. In the late 70s, porn was still shot on 35mm film and could cost as much as $350,000 to produce one film.

But with the rise of VHS technology in the 1980s, porn producers suddenly had the ability to produce high-quality content for as little as $4,000. But Stagliano and Stagliano self-produced his film Bouncing Buns in 1983 for $8,000. And from that moment on, he never stopped producing top-class work and innovating the genre.

Stagliano launched Evil Angel in 1989 to market his films; the name Evil Angel was apparently inspired by Stagliano's days as a male stripper. Of the name, he says: "I was in a show once and a guy named John came up to me and said, 'I want to make a movie:

There was another guy named John at one of the shows. So this MC started calling me Evil John to distinguish us. This was back when I was doing Dracula and Chains. At the same time, I had a girlfriend who called herself Angel when I did strip shows. She was a very mean girl and I encouraged her to call herself Evil Angel. She didn't, but I liked the name and ended up using it in my own company.

Evil Angel turns out to be a very appropriate name, given the level of "bad taste" in the content they produced and continue to produce (but more on this later).

It is difficult to overestimate the influence that Stagliano and Evil Angel have had on pornography today. Stagliano is credited with coming up with the idea for POV porn in 1989. This is huge; Evil Angel is also often cited as the first studio to pioneer the gonzo porn genre, but this was entirely by accident.

Largely due to a lack of funding, many of Evil Angel's early films had shaky camerawork, unconnected narratives between scenes, and a raw, low-budget aesthetic. However, these early films influenced a huge genre in today's porn industry that filmmakers have gone to great lengths to imitate.

In 1997, US News and World Report named Evil Angel the most profitable porn production studio; in 2007, the company received 127 nominations in 60 categories for the Adult Video News (AVN) Awards (the fourth consecutive year that more than 100 nominations ).

Evil Angel continues to push the envelope and innovate the art: in 2015, Evil Angel is one of the few well-known studios producing transsexual content, and such videos earn, on average, about 15-20% more money per film than other types of films they offer It is really hard to explain how influential and successful Evil Angel has been over the past 30+ years. No other studio can compare.

From VHS to HTTPS

Of course, there is the question of how they handled the transition to web content. So let's take a look at the members area. Looking at the home page, we see a very normal design and layout: red text on a black background, large thumbnails, and a large announcement banner at the top of the page (fortunately, nothing but Evil Angel works are advertised).

On the home page, what sets Evil Angel apart from other paid subscription sites is that instead of a directory of porn stars and actresses on the left side of the page, there is a directory of directors, and you can switch between a list of Evil Angel's most popular directors or an alphabetical list. You can switch between Evil Angel's list of popular directors or an alphabetical list. This says a lot about the Evil Angel studio and what they care about. They truly understand that their videos are not just a record of hot girls getting fucked, but that their work is seen as a film.

Just by looking at some of the screenshots used in the thumbnails, it is easy to understand the nasty, raw, hardcore aesthetic that I mentioned earlier. This is like gritting your teeth and letting out your aggression while fucking.

Another thing to note about Evil Angel's online content is that they do not separate their transsexual content from their male/female and female/girl videos. So if that is not your cup of tea, well, deal with it. If it is to your liking, be glad you don't have to dig as deep to find it as you would on other sites.

Ease of Use

The website is really well organized, which is always a plus (and is to be expected from an O.G. expert in pornography). There is a menu bar at the top of the page that allows you to browse through the site (Photos, Classics, Extras, Voracious (the featured vampire series), Blog, and about). It is especially useful to click on "classics" if you want to get in touch with the roots of the porn you are watching. The menu bar also includes videos, movies, porn stars, and free scenes from affiliated paysites. My only complaint with the site design is that it is a bit busy for my taste. I tend to prefer something a little more minimalist, and Evil Angel uses up every page from top to bottom, with no white space. But maybe that's just me.

As one of the most profitable porn studios of all time, I expected the site to have not a single ad. And for a while, I thought so. But then I scrolled to the bottom of the page and discovered three ads. Only three ads, I know what you're thinking. Will this person ever calm down with a rant against the ads? No, I don't. Just three ads, no big deal, I know. But Evil Angel is one of the most profitable porn studios. I have zero expectations there. Well, it's probably not enough to stop an erection. I think it is.

The unfortunate thing about Evil Angel's content is that they have yet to jump on the virtual reality bandwagon. They have always been at the forefront of porn innovation, which is surprising to me given that VR porn is perfectly suited to the gonzo, POV style they pioneered so many years ago. If I could talk to John Stagliano, that would be my only complaint; I would love to see Evil Angel incorporate the more interactive features available in 2018.

Overall, however, Evil Angel did not disappoint in the slightest. They certainly live up to the high standards they set for themselves, and that's not always an easy thing to do: when you subscribe to Evil Angel, you get 30 years worth of amazing content, some of the sexiest girls on the web, an archive of historically valuable classic films (knowing your roots is important ), and a very user-friendly website to browse it all.

As I've said before, I could have done without the ads (albeit relatively few) and the lack of virtual reality content is a huge missed opportunity for Evil Angel, but these are relatively minor complaints amidst the many things to admire about the site. If you like anal penetration and bitches swallowing huge cocks deep enough to bring tears to your eyes, Evil Angel is probably just what you're looking for.
